Our After School Programs are designed to take place one day a week for 2 hours, 3 - 5 pm. Each program will be completely outside in all seasons. Spending time outdoors in all kinds of weather builds confidence and resilience.

Autumn Adventures ~ September - November

6 or 8 weeks

Age groups 5 - 8 or 9 - 12

Adventure into the mystical season of Autumn! We will explore all the changing season has to offer. Activities will include but are not limited to hiking, crafts, fort building, creating fairy houses, tree and plant ID, storytelling, free play, and fire building.

Growing Gardeners ~ September - October, April - June

6 or 8 weeks

Age groups 5 - 8 or 9 - 12

Let’s plant a garden! We will get our hands dirty planting seeds, harvesting vegetables, and finding worms. What we can’t eat fresh from the garden students will bring home to share with family. Storytelling, crafts, games, and free play will also be involved. Don’t have a school garden? Let’s build one!

Winter Explorers ~ January - March

6, 8, or 10 weeks

Age groups 5 - 8 or 9 - 12

Explorers will traverse the winter landscape and adventure into the magical world of Winter. We will connect with the season through activities designed to promote resilience and to interact with the beauty of a Northeast winter. Adventures will include hiking, winter tree ID, tea making, winter animal tracking, storytelling, winter crafts, and free play.

Research supports that unstructured play has an important role in the healthy physical and social-emotional development of a child. And unstructured play outside is extremely beneficial to our children's mental health. Additionally, studies show that play can lead to a stronger academic performance. Whether it is building a fort or using sticks and leaves to create props in an afternoon of pretend play, our children are working and learning.
